Self-check tools
Total your own attributes against Immigration New Zealand's publicly available criteria. These tools show you your own tally; they do not assess your eligibility or recommend a course of action.
Skilled Migrant points self-check
To be eligible to apply for the Skilled Migrant Category resident visa, Immigration New Zealand requires at least 6 points from your skills and your work in New Zealand, and you must have a skilled job — or a job offer — with an accredited employer. You claim points from ONE skills source (your highest recognised qualification, OR New Zealand occupational registration, OR your skilled-job income against the 2025 median wage) PLUS up to 3 points for skilled work in New Zealand. This tool totals the points for what you enter against the published 6-point threshold. It does not assess your eligibility.
Accredited Employer Work Visa — readiness self-check
The Accredited Employer Work Visa (AEWV) generally turns on three published checks: the employer must be accredited, the job must pass a job check, and the worker must meet the applicant requirements (skills/experience, pay, plus English, health and character where they apply). This tool counts how many of those gates the situation you enter appears to meet. It is a self-count of publicly available gates, not an assessment of your eligibility.
